At Be Wild Be Free, our Forest School sessions follow a child-centred approach, encouraging curiosity, confidence and connection within a beautiful woodland setting in Compton Dando. By joining our block sessions, children build a familiar routine of returning to the woods each week, developing a deep sense of wonder, belonging and care for the natural world around them.

Through a gentle blend of guided activities and plenty of time for children to explore, question and discover at their own pace, we create meaningful opportunities for growth. Over time, each child develops their social and emotional skills, alongside their physical abilities and practical woodland skills, all within a nurturing, supportive outdoor environment.

Through repeated visits across the seasons, children develop a genuine relationship with the natural world. They learn to assess and manage risk, solve problems, work together, and trust their own abilities. The result is deeper, more meaningful learning that stays with them long after the session ends.

Every session is carefully facilitated by experienced, Level 3 Forest School practitioners who prioritise safety, inclusivity, and respect for the environment — creating a space where every child feels free to be themselves.

Who It's For

Forest School is designed for children and young people of all ages and abilities — from early years through to teenagers. The approach adapts to suit each group, whether that's a class of curious five-year-olds or a group of young people seeking space to grow.

We work with schools, nurseries, home-education groups, and families who want to give children regular, meaningful time in nature. Sessions can be delivered as one-off taster days or, ideally, as a recurring programme that allows children to truly flourish over time.
